New York City is experiencing a crime wave. Reporter April O'Neil discovers the thieves are ninja. As a street gang attacks April, she escapes into the sewers, where four big talking turtles defeat the thugs, and take April to their lair. There April meets their mentor, a rat Splinter, who tells her his backstory as the Japanese ninja Hamato Yoshi. As the Turtles and April investigate the streets for the thieves' origins, they discover a group of robot ninjas whose uniform Splinter recognizes as belonging to the Foot Clan. Before April can expose them, she's kidnapped by the Shredder. The Turtles race to free her.
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles - Season 01
Shredder opens the portal to Dimension X for the first time. Three teenage kids known as Neutrinos and two of Krang's stone warriors emerge. The turtles befriend the teens, but before long the two stone warriors set up a special weather making device that causes trouble.
The first season of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles aired on Nickelodeon from September 28, 2012, to August 8, 2013. The season introduces the four turtles Leonardo (voiced by Jason Biggs),[1] Donatello (voiced by Rob Paulsen),[1] Raphael (voiced by Sean Astin)[1] and Michelangelo (voiced by Greg Cipes).[1]
During the course of the story, the turtles learn more about the history between Splinter and the Shredder, that they were like brothers but their love for Tang Shen caused them to become enemies and the latter accidentally killed Tang Shen. The turtles meet Leatherhead, a mutant alligator who becomes an ally. The turtles are usually thwarting Kraang, the Foot or mutants created by the mutagen, the turtles also meet Karai, Shredder's adopted daughter who is not as hostile as the rest of the Foot with them until they betray her to take Shredder out.
The season primarily focuses on the Turtles slowly coming into conflict with the Foot Clan. After their lair is destroyed by Baxter Stockman's mousers, they find a new home elsewhere in the sewers and also gain new allies in the form of April O'Neil and Casey Jones. The Turtles foil the plans of the Shredder, Hun, and Stockman on numerous occasions before Shredder offers Leonardo a peace offering in exchange for their service, citing an unknown evil they must face together. Splinter reveals the Shredder and Hun's hand in murdering his master Hamato Yoshi, and the two sides come to blows in a battle that seemingly ends in the Shredder's defeat. However, unknown to the Turtles, the Shredder survives, and after his ninjas savagely ambush and wound Leonardo, destroys April's home and believes them dead, though the Turtles, Splinter, Casey and April survive and depart for Casey's family's farm house in rural New York. After Leonardo's wounds heal and their resolve is restored, the group returns to New York to face the Foot Clan. However, after their triumph against the Shredder, Splinter vanishes, and after following a lead from a mysterious group known as the "Guardians", the Turtles discover the Utroms, an alien race hiding amongst humanity, and are unable to save Splinter from them before being teleported into space.
Once he had reached the cage that contained Karai and was about to set her free, The Shredder out of nowhere came to attempt to push him, but his Steel Claws cuts off the chain that was holding Karai's cage. This causes the teenager to fall into the Mutagen to mutate into a mindless three-headed serpent mutant (who has shape-shifting abilities, possibly gained from the mysterious substance in the serum), which devastated the Turtles, Splinter, and Shredder.
After 28 years of existence, we know the characters; Michelangelo is the goofy one, Raphael is the rebellious one, Leonardo is the leader and Donatello is smart. That has not changed, though in this version, Raphael has a pet non-mutant, non-ninja, non-teenaged turtle (I mean tortoise!) of his own, while Leonardo bases his leadership skills, surprisingly, on a Captain Kirk expy. Donatello, meanwhile, is instantly smitten with April, who is a teenager like the turtles. The writers seem to be setting up a sort of cross-species romance, there. 041b061a72
