Tere Naal Love Ho Gaya tells the story of a happy go-lucky Punjabi girl, named Sonam (Sonam Kapoor) who wants to fulfill her goal of a heart-warming love story. She meets Shaurya (Prithviraj Chauhan), a cute guy, and is soon in a relationship with him. However, Sonam's father dislikes Shaurya's family because they are not from a wealthy or well-connected family and he encourages Sonam to marry someone else. Sonam soon marries off her husband to someone else, refusing to be trapped by her father's threats. She takes up her job and comes across Professor (Sachin Khedekar). She falls in love with him and wants to be with him. In her heart she chooses a life of love and husband's happiness and is determined to marry Professor. Professor tells her that he loves her but he doesn't love her as much as she loves him. With all her efforts to prevent it, she finds herself in the presence of Shaurya.
